Dune Thorne joined the IR+M Board of Directors as an advisory member in 2021 and was elected as an outside Director by the firm’s Shareholders in 2024. She is the Chief Strategy Officer, a Partner, and a member of the Executive Team for Brown Advisory, a private, independent investment firm. Prior to her current role, she founded and ran the Boston Office and led Client Experience. Previously, Ms. Thorne worked as a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Silver Bridge Advisors.
Ms. Thorne brings to the Board her expertise in building a successful investment management firm and creating a culture that supports growth and impact. She is the Founder of Invest in Girls and currently serves on the Board of the organization; in addition, she is currently a member of the Brown Advisory Sustainable Investments Advisory Board, a member of the Board and Investment Committee for Milton Academy, a member of the Board and Finance Committee for Mass Bay Community College, a member of the Investment Committee and Finance Committee for the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, a Trustee for the US Ski Team Foundation, and serves on the Board of the New England Chapter of the Young President’s Organization.
Ms. Thorne has a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College, an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a graduate of the LeadBoston Program. She lives in Lincoln, MA with her husband and three children and enjoys traveling, skiing, running and being active in the outdoors.
