Jake Remley, senior portfolio manager at Income Research + Management, offered his outlook on inflation to Reuters in the wake of a recent strong auction of 10-year TIPS. Comparing the current market to conditions of 2011, Jake explained why TIPS are popular now because inflation is a major topic of interest among investors. TIPS are more liquid, he noted, and inflation is expected to rise because of bottlenecks in economic supply chains due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
