Allison Walsh, head of ESG and corporate sustainability at Income Research + Management, expressed her opinions on the future of sustainable investing in an op-ed for Environmental Finance. She described the ways in which ESG factors are becoming more important to fixed income investors, as well as how this type of analysis is integrated into IR+M’s overall investment process. Allison addressed how IR+M confronts challenges related to obtaining ESG data for asset classes like CMBS, including receiving insights from third-party data providers, government databases, and more to help inform analysts’ views.
